DAY 2 - GAP TRAIL - PLEASANTRIES OF THE TRAIL

Woke to the rumble of trains passing by across the river from the Round Bottom Campsite. Good thing I really like trains because they rumbled by all night long. And it sounded like they were passing right next to the tent! Laura pretty much slept through it all. We started the day with coffee by the river. Following a breakfast of oatmeal we were packed and back on the trail

Coffee with a view.

We made a few stops along the way and took a break in Connellsville, PA for some much deserved frozen yogurt. Laura ended up crossing the street to the local bike shop and purchased a handlebar bag to store her phone and camera. It works out much better than the previous bag she was using.

Checking messages in Dawson, PA.

Enjoying some frozen yogurt.

Lunch stop was in Ohiopyle. A nice little community full of activity with bikers and people kayaking the river. Met a couple from Texas and had a delightful chat about their travels. One of the great perks of being on the bike, the people you meet.

Met a nice couple while taking a break on this bridge.

Ended the day in Lockwood, PA., at Husky Haven campground. Our first sight was the bath house, oh, did that feel awesome. Amazing how a shower can improve one's view of the world. The day ended on a high!
